1. General information
This subject offers the theoretical foundation necessary to design specific activities in the different curricular contexts and has two main goals:
. To analyze the contributions of the reference disciplines of FLE didactics and to know the specificity of the learning of a foreign language in the school environment.
. To have an overview of the different methodological approaches throughout the history of FLE teaching. These approaches and goals are aligned with the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Goal 4: Quality Education. Target 4.7
Goal 5: Gender Equality. Goal 5.1
It is recommended that the student has acquired an oral and written proficiency at least equivalent to level B1+ of the CEFR.
2. Learning results
In order to pass this subject, the students shall demonstrate they has acquired the following results:
1. Describes, analyzes and evaluates the different models and theories related to the different methodologies for learning a foreign language.
2. Understand foreign language didactic texts, both popular and specialized magazines, and carry out a critical analysis of them at.
3. Knows and analyzes the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
4. It critically analyzes the methods and manuals for teaching French used at the Primary Education stage.
3. Syllabus
1. Introduction à la didactique du FLE. La différence acquisition-apprentissage dans la didactique du FLE. Les caractéristiques du processus d'apprentissage chez les enfants.
2. Introduction à la didactique du FLE. Methodological approaches to teaching French as a foreign language.
3. Le Cadre Européen Commun de Référence des Langues.
4. The action perspective. Principes. Projects, tasks, activities, strategies.
5. Les matériels curriculaires : analyse et évaluation des manuels et du matériel complémentaire.
4. Academic activities
The methodology designed for this course is based on:
. Reading and analysis of documents showing different approaches to foreign language learning.
. Individual and group work on activities aimed at learning foreign languages.
. Oral presentation of the work carried out.
In addition, the following activities will be carried out to achieve the learning outcomes:
. Explanation of concepts, presentation and exemplification of tasks.
. Performance of individual and group tasks.
. Search for materials and resources.
. Preparation of evaluable tests.
. Student presentations.
5. Assessment system
First call
a) Continuous assessment:
1) Activities on the contents of the course during the classroom sessions: 30%.
2) Test on the contents of the subject: 50%. It is necessary to obtain at least 5/10 to be included in the final grade . If this is not the case, it must be repeated in the overall evaluation.
3) Written work and oral presentation in French on an aspect of the subject: 20% (10%: work, 10%: oral presentation).
b) Overall assessment:
1) Test on the contents of the subject: 50%. It is necessary to obtain at least 5/10 to be included in the final grade.
2) Written work and oral presentation in French on an aspect of the subject: 50% (25%: work, 25% presentation).
The work must be submitted one week before the date indicated in the exam schedule. The presentation will be made after the written test.
Second call
Global evaluation, the same as in the first call.
Fifth and sixth calls
The fifth and sixth call will be evaluated with the same activities and with the same requirements that appear in the section on the second call.
Assessment criteria:
- Work:
. Quality of the structure (format, coherence and cohesion) and relevance of the content.
. Documentation.
. Quality of written expression.
- Exhibition:
. Appropriate verbal (pronunciation and fluency) and non-verbal communication.
. Resources used.
. Ability to interact.
Finally, it must be taken into account that the Regulations of the Norms of Coexistence of the University of Zaragoza will be applicable to the irregularities committed in the evaluation tests by means of academic fraud, as well as the application of article 30 of the Regulations of the Norms of Evaluation of Learning in relation to irregular practices other than academic fraud.
